How is Sam helping women like you? Meet Leslie.
“You know that warm-fuzzy, comforting feeling of instant closeness you get when you meet someone who just gets you? Meet Sam. You share. Sam listens, and then connects you with resources and actions to help you move through life’s biggest challenges.” ~Leslie
When life felt like too much to carry
When Leslie first connected with Sam, she was navigating multiple life challenges all at once: recovering from a recent job loss, grieving the death of her sister, and taking over as the primary caregiver for her aging parents — all while trying to navigate the emotional toll of so much change at once.
Her parents lived in an assisted living facility an hour and a half away, and most of the logistics from medical appointments to emergencies now fell on her shoulders. On top of that, Leslie was exploring a late-stage career transition in tech and worrying about how to stay marketable in a changing field. Everything felt urgent. Everything felt heavy.
Making sense of it all
In her first 1:1 Navigator session, Leslie’s Navigator took the time to truly listen, helping her sort through what needed attention first. Her most pressing need was guidance on how to make informed decisions as her family considered moving her parents to a new care facility.
Her Navigator provided a curated list of recommended Experts, saving Leslie from hours of stressful research and comparison. With that help, Leslie quickly found the right fit, an Eldercare Specialist and Aging Life Care Manager, and booked her first Expert session.
Insightful, personalized guidance
Going in, Leslie wasn’t sure what to expect, but within minutes, she could tell her Expert understood both the practical and emotional sides of caregiving. The Expert validated what Leslie was already doing well, offered fresh perspectives, and even reviewed an assisted-living facility under consideration, outlining its strengths and weaknesses. Leslie left the session feeling seen, supported, and confident that the advice was truly tailored to her.
Learning to care for herself too
As the weeks went on, Leslie realized just how much stress she had been carrying. She wanted to find simple ways to calm her nervous system so she could show up for her parents and herself with more ease.
So for her second Expert session, Leslie worked with another Expert trained in biology, neuroscience, psychology, and stress physiology. This Expert introduced her to somatic techniques: noticing where stress shows up physically and using small, grounding practices to release it. By the end, Leslie felt lighter and more in tune with herself, realizing how small shifts in the body can quiet the mind.
A toolkit for resilience
Drawn to self-directed tools, Leslie appreciated learning practices she could use on her own, ways to pause and reset when life felt overwhelming. A few days later, on the Sam platform, Leslie discovered a resource filled with quick breathwork, movement, and mindset tools. Combined with what she learned in her Expert session, these have become her personal go-to toolkit for calm and resilience.
See what it feels like to not have to go it alone
“My experience with Sam feels like it’s really just begun. Sam has helped me realize how habituated I am to going it alone, to rely on self-sufficiency. Supporters standing with me feels like strange new territory. But I now know what great support is and can be.” ~Leslie
